Any comments on Sofitel Ambassador Hotel?

5 of us are visiting Seoul in a few weeks time and have a choice of 1 free night at either Sofitel Ambassador or Ibis Myeong Dong. Having an elderly and children aged 9 and 11, we like to stay at a place where it%26#39;s convenient for food, shopping or just strolling around the area. We have to catch a flight at 11.00am the next day and I read from other TA members that Sofitel is a pick-up point by KAL airport bus so it would make it really convenient for us. If I stay at Ibis, I need to walk to Lotte Hotel to be picked up. With luggages and children, which hotel would be better?

Ibis to lotte is not easy; involves going up and down stairs to cross the road, I think.

Don%26#39;t know about Sofitel, apart from it being on the KAL bus.

In your shoes I%26#39;d choose Sofitel hands down, purely on accessibility. You cuold always get a taxi to Myeongdong, if it%26#39;s too far to walk, once you%26#39;ve disposed of luggage.

I think Ibis Myeongdong is closer to food and shopping than the Sofitel. There is KAL bus departing from Lotte hotel, but also there is Airport Limousine bus going to Myeongdong (#6015). The bus stop is at Royal hotel- 5 min walk to the Ibis. (10-15 min walk with luggage and kids!) You don%26#39;t have to cross the road.
