Love to visit Seoul this summer, Need help :)

Hi! We%26#39;re hoping we can make a trip to Seoul this Mid-July with 2 kids age 11 %26amp; 12. We have a month Vacation this year. Our first stop would be Tokyo, HK, Taipei %26amp; Seoul. Was there a place we can take kids to? What was the Weather like by then? Any Info would be nice.

Thanks!

Hi, mid-July should be quite warm 28-30 degrees Celsius. Seoul has excellent theme parks that should interest your kids - Lotte World and Everland. The Namsan Hanok Village which showcases traditional korean lifestyles and costumes should interest them too. If you%26#39;re flying into Asia on Korean Airlines or Asiana Airlines, you can get preferential room rates at selected downtown hotels. Do contact your local Korea National Tourist Organization Office (KTO) for maps and brochures. KTO should have an office in LA or San Francisco. Good luck.

Great!

Well, Mid-July will be quite hot and humid. July and August are the most hot season of the year. Tokyo will be the same.

I%26#39;d recommend Lotte World than Everland. Lotte World is in Seoul but Everland, one hour trip from Seoul. Also, Lotte world is half indoor half outdoor. It comes in handy on hot summer day.

I would also recommend the aquarium at the Coex Mall - a great place to spend a couple of hours out of the hot sun.

Do read the advice about what jabs you will need. I am quite horrified about how many we have to get.

I%26#39;m not sure what your budget is for your hotel in Seoul but if I%26#39;m visiting Seoul in hot and steamy July, I%26#39;d stay at COEX. There are two Intercontinental Hotels there and both has very large rooms.

Reasons I%26#39;d stay there with kids during summer are:

The hotel is connected to a big COEX mall. The mall has a bookstore, several food courts, aquarium, and very good shopping. All inside well air-conditioned underground.

Both hotels are connected to a metro station.

Lotte World is a short metro stops away.

Both hotels have a small but nice swimming pool.

The mall has several food courts, and Hyundai Department store next door also has an excellent one, which will come handy when your kids wants to stick with western style food such as pizza and burgers, and you%26#39;re not.

I personally prefer Grand Intercontinental over COEX Intercontinental, but that%26#39;s just based on my experience. They both run about $200/night and their website has the best rate.
