What to expect at Incheon

Hi there,

my wife and I are going to America and we are travelling via Incheon, Seoul. Our stop over is 2 hours and then we board another plane to the United States.

When we arrive at incheon airport, can anyone tell me the procedure that we follow? This is our first time going overseas via another airport.

From the time we get off the first plane to waiting at the boarding gate to our next flight...do we get off the first plane and just proceed to the next boarding gate and wait. Or do we go through immigration, customs etc. Maybe our luggage gets transfered to the next plane?

I%26#39;d greatly appreciate someones knowledge on what I ask. Thanks a heaps.

What to expect at Incheon

Hi there-

I have transferred at Incheon many times, usually heading from Canada to other parts of Asia.

When you check-in in AU, ensure your bags are checked through to the final destination (United States).

When you arrive at Incheon, you will be on the arrivals level. This is one level lower than the departures level.

You want to follow the %26#39;International Connections%26#39; signs. There are plenty of signs and they are in English. Do not go through Immigration. You will find the international connections area. You have to go through security again, after which you will go up an escalator to the departures area, then to your gate.

There are sometimes lines at the security point but they move fast. Ensure you already have your boarding pass for your connecting flight to the US.

Remember not to buy duty free liquids on your flight from AU as they may not let you carry it through security. If you wnat to buy duty free liquids, buy them on the plane to the US, or at Incheon airport once in the departure area.

Dont worry- English is widely used in signs and most airport staff can help you in English as well.

Enjoy! It is a nice big airport with lots of good shopping.

Thanks. I%26#39;m going to Seoul, soon, too, and it%26#39;s nice to know a little about the airport, for starters.
