I am considering to join a tour in September to Jeju island. I read that September is typhoon season for this area. Have anyone been there during this time of the season? How bad is it. Could I still swim and explore outside in summer clothing or will it be very windy and cold? Should I change my itinery and go to Seoul instead?
My greatest appreciation to all that respond
Thank-you
jeju island in Korea compare to Seoul
Roughly, two to three typhoons usually hit Korea during the month, June to September. One of them passed through Korea in September 2006 and 2007, affected Jeju directly or indirectly, accompanied by heavy rain and strong wind or just wind.
However, the influence of Typhoon in Jeju is just 1-2 days at the most and nobody knows about the Typhoon’s estimated route, furthermore it will come or not.
The max temperature of Sep. in Jeju is approximately 25C to 30C. Therefore, you can wear summer clothes, but the seawater is probably a little cold to swim.
