Han Suites or Vabien II

Anyone can advise, in terms of location and convenience, which is better? Han Suites or Vabien II? Han Suites is near Chungmuro subway which seems to be more convenient to get to most places by subways though. Vabien II seems to be located near the City Hall area but i thought its nearby subway station Seodamun seems a little more inconvenient to get around (in terms of need to change lines). Any opinions?

Han Suites or Vabien II

As someone who had never been to Korea before, I had no problem changing lines from Seodamun subway station. It was also very easy to get a taxi from Vabien

Han Suites or Vabien II

Thanks Jennifer. I%26#39;ve got a pretty good deal for Vabien so I guess I will try it out.

I%26#39;ve stayed at Han Suites.... much more budget oriented than Vabien II, it takes 10 minutes to walk to Chungmuro from Han Suites, but only 5 minutes to Seodaemun from Vabien II

I work right nearby Vabien I, II %26amp; III and I checked these out thoroughly as well.

Now what you like to do and if your with family will dictate which place to stay at, as well as where you will work.

Han Suites is close to some very nice department stores, good cinemas, many restaurants and if your single and you like some expat nightlife it is a quick taxi ride to Itaewon. Also line #3 subway takes you straight to Apkujeong and more department stores, shops, plastic surgey clinics, resaurants....

Vabien I, II %26amp; III as well as Fraser Suites (all lined up in a row!) has beautiful apartments but in my opinion there is not that much nearby, although there is an E-Mart (supermarket) at Seoul station which is a 5 minute taxi ride away, also a poor quality department store called CONCOS. Cinemas, two nearby but not as nice as those near Han Suites.

So I think if your single (or alone here in Seoul) then Han Suites, if with family then Vabien I, II or III because your family will thank you!! Also the Vabien%26#39;s provide many more %26#39;accessories%26#39; in their apartments so that you don%26#39;t need to be continuously shopping for the small things. I hint...bring your western cutlery set, they are very expensive here for anything decent and difficult to find anyway. Even the serviced apartments don%26#39;t seem to cater very well to this need.

If you have any further questions then please post them, I%26#39;ve been here a while now and if your not experienced in Seoul and don%26#39;t know expats then the first months can be very difficult to get set up.

BTW.... Vabien III is very nice.... if your company is paying ask them for this one!

We have never been to Korea, so this is all new to us. We are 3 American toy buyers visiting Tokyo late Aug-early Sept, we thought why not stop by Seoul to visit the 2 big wholesale markets (Dongdaemun, Namdaemun) which are unknown in the US, even for experienced int%26#39;l buyers like us, we just heard about them few months ago. We only have one goal in 5 days, visit Dongdaemun and Namdaemun and see what we can buy. Would you suggest Vabien II? or III? do you know the hotel homepage address? is there a quality large room-apartament like hotel in the middle of Dongdaemun or Namdaemun, or is that a good idea? to be in the middle of these 2 places? we have no idea what these 2 places are except there are many wholesale shops. Airport bus stops at Vabien II, that should be convenient for 3 people with 3 suitcases. Cost is not a great concern, convenience and to be in the middle of all the shops and restaurants will be great. We are excited about visiting Korea for the first time, a good hotel makes a whole world of difference.

I have lived at both Han suites and Vabien 2. Both are easily accessible to the subway lines (Vabien is a few minutes from Seadamun or just under 10 minutes to the city hall station) so you will not find much of a difference. Vabien is a bit more upscale (newer building, more restaurants on site), Han suites has more choice of entertainment etc nearby

This response is for macbcmini.

Seoul is basically divided into two huge areas, the north of Han River and the south of Han River. Since both Dongdaemun and Namdaemun are on the north side, you may want to stay there.

Since the cost is not a great concern, I would recommend the following hotels; Hyatt, Hilton, Lotte, and Westin Chosun. You won%26#39;t go wrong with any one of these hotels.

Hyatt is on top of Namsan, with great view, and you can reach either of your destination in 15 minutes by taxi. The other three are right in the thick of everything, and Hilton is right next to Namdaemun.

Having said that, since I am not much of a shopper, I am not sure if Dongdaemun and Namdaemun are the right places for toys. I hear they are good for clothing. I strongly recommend for you to contact KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, http://www.kotra.or.kr) for their advice on the toys or anything else for that matter, as an international buyer of Korean products.

I wish you all the best.
