Cell Phone or Pay Phone in Korea

I%26#39;m going to be in Seoul, Pusan, and some smaller cities in Korea. Obviously my AT%26amp;T cell phone isn%26#39;t gonna work in Korea. Is it easy to rent one in Korea? Or are there many pay phones throughout Korea?

What is the best strategy if you%26#39;re gonna be in Korea for 2 weeks. I am not going to be a heavy phone user but expect to use the phone to make reservations. Can I get by assuming that there are enough payphones?

If I shoudl rent, where is the best place to rent? At the airport?

I don%26#39;t think I saw many pay phones other than airport or subway stations while I was there. Cell phones are not only convenient but essential because whenever I made some reservations, I was always asked to provide my cell phone number as a means of confirmation. I rented out a cell phone from airport, there is rental desk near the tourist info desk. The sales rep even reset the phone with English as main language so I don%26#39;t have to muddle through Korean.
