Hi loan,

This is a pretty late reply to your query but just in case your not yet in Gyeongju here%26#39;s part of my travel notes from 2006:

';Thur 11 May.

Busan to Gyeongju. We confirmed last nights advice to use the bus to Gyeongju and also to Seoul. We were told that it was cheaper and better as there is a bus every half hour, where as the train is only one morning and afternoon. Train also takes same or longer time than the bus.

Took the subway from near the hotel to the bus station which is well out of the city. A taxi would have cost 40,000 won as against the subway鈥檚 two sections at 1,000 won each. Took 40 minutes.

The express buses are comfortable. The seats are more like 1st class with rows of 2 seats on the left side and a single seat on the right side. The journey took about 1 hour.

In the evening went to see the outdoor performance of music and dance by the Silla Traditional Performing Art Group. Just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. They were very good. Being outside it was also very cold as the temperature dropped to about 10 degrees. Well worth feeling chilly for. ';

The buses are good. We also used the same type to travel from Gyeongju to Seoul.

To watch the Sila Group, it performs in a small amphetheatre where you sit on concrete levels around the stage. Was free in 2006 so assume it still is.

Cheers.

Hi StanleyAukland

Thanks for sharing informations but i m a little confused ,taxi from your hotel (In Busan) to bus terminal (to go to Gyeongju) cost 40000W?That is expensive!the 40 minutes is from where to where?

Bus from Busan to Gyeongju took 1 hour?right?

Did you remember how much for a bus ticket from Busan to Gyeonju?

Thanks

Hi loan,

In Busan we stayed at Pusan Tourist Hotel which is at the bottom of Dragon Head Mountain and close to Kukje Market (also known as International market).

The main bus terminal is a long way out of the City.

The hotel staff told us that a taxi from the hotel to the bus terminal would cost 40,000 won. They suggested we use the subway (signs in english) as it is much cheaper. Subway station was close to the fish market and only a short distance from the hotel(about 5 minutes walk). Subway cost was 1000 won per section and there%26#39;s only 2 sections which equals 2000 per person.. It took 40 minutes by subway and the train stopped at the bus station so it%26#39;s easy to use.

From memory I think the express bus to Gyeongju cost about 4000 won per person. This was in 2006 but I dont think the price has changed much.

Yes the journey is about 1 hour.

Cheers.
