Autumn colors - Please help

I%26#39;m planning to go to S. Korea to take photos of autumn colours/foliages from 7 to 15 Nov. I was told by some people it%26#39;ll be too late.

1. Is this the case? I can%26#39;t find 2008 autumn colour schedule on internet.

2. Which moutain is best for autumn colours - Seoraksan, Jirisan, or Naejangsan?

3. What are the best spots in Seoul for autumn colours?

I%26#39;ve never been to South Korea and would really appreciate if anyone can give me some ideas. Thank you very much.

It%26#39;s too late those days. You may only see fallen leaves.

1. Korea weather bereau hasn%26#39;t published 2008 automn color schedule yet, but refer to the following site:

http://kma.go.kr/indust/aaw_01_06_03.jsp

you can see the 2007 schedule(only for Korean), but I%26#39;m not sure that schedule was exactly correct at that time. Do you absolutely believe your weather service? :)

(the figures on the map and table means the month and date, and begining day and peak day.

e.g.

Seoraksan (Year 2006:9.25(begining day)- 10.17(peak day), (Year 2007: 10.3 - 10.24),

Jirisan: Year2006 10.3-10.10, Year2007 10.10-10.22, Naejangsan:Year2007 10.25-11.5))

I think you may find the forecast of the 2008 autumn color schedule the begining of September.

2. I think Seoraksan and Naejangsan is the best place taking picutres in the autumn.

3. I recommend you Changdeokgung Palace in Seoul, one of the UNESCO World heritage and it has a Secret

Garden. the Secret Garden is beautiful especially in the autumn.

Yes, definitely too late by then. You need to bring your dates forward by at least 3 weeks. If you catch it right, the colours are a joy wherever you look.

JJKorea and Britintheorient,

Thanks so much for the information and help. Really really appreciate.

I temporarily schedule early November because my travel partner may not be able to go in October. Now I%26#39;ll try my best to ensure Oct is when we go.

I went to Naejansan last year, the peak was about November 20, I was interested seeing the post about October, to me that%26#39;s utterly wrong, I%26#39;d say maybe early Nov for Seoraksan and late mid-late Nov for Jirisan and Naejansan, I live in Korea and I%26#39;ll be out there too snapping away in Jirisan this time.

Hello. I am Korean and visiting this website by chance.

It is actually not very easy to predict for now.

But it is true that Seorak is early(Oct.) and Naejang or Jirisan is little late(Nov.) because north part or Korea is always cooler than the south part.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

But please make sure that you don%26#39;t go too early either. :-)

According to a travel agency, between 20 oct to 10 Nov, their itinery will be going to Naejangsan for autumn scenery.

But again, its really hard to tell now.
