DMZ zone - worth the visit?

I will be in South Korea for 7 nights this December holidaying free %26amp; easy. I am wondering if the DMZ is worth the visit, price aside. For travellers who have been there, what kind of emotions/thoughts did you walk away with? or will it be another tourist trap? Thanks :)

Depends on your interest. Would you be interested visiting Ground Zero if you are in New York city? or Killing Field in Cambodia? Berlin wall in Germany? DMZ is, at least to Koreans, equally tragic site as those, since it%26#39;s the place where you can see the actual military tension between North and South Koreas. Two have agreed only to cease battle but not the Korean War itself. You can see border guards from twp countries facing each other at the official meeting room. Also a secret tunnel dug by North Korea. You can do search on this forum and find many reviews on DMZ tour. Many seemed to find it unique and interesting. For me, it%26#39;s very tragic site where two Koreas are involved in silent warfare.
