Need advisor to share where to go for ny eve in Seoul
Hi Christina,
I recommend u to visit Myeong-dong.
This place is very crowded in Seoul during Christmas season and new year.
There some hotels near Myeong-dong but i dont remember the name of those.
There are heaps of restaurants and shops.
For more information, u better visit official tourism site, http://english.tour2korea.com/index.asp
I hope u have a great time in Korea :-)
Need advisor to share where to go for ny eve in Seoul
Hi Davis
Thanks so much for your reply and the information given :), it definitely helps me and I will definitely check it out.
By the way, do you happen to know is Western Co-Op Residence Seoul Hotel ,at a convenient location to stay? That means in Seoul City and near Train Station (MRT).
Hmm, I guess I will explore Seoul and will love the place.
Hear from you ya :)
Good Night

the hotel near myeondong is Prince Hotel, Sejong Hotel and Savoy hotel. All near to the subway.
Hi Blossom
Thanks for your information :) Greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Hi, Christina
Co up residence is near Dongdaemoon station and it%26#39;s just 2 stations away from Myungdong.
If you want to enjoy new year%26#39;s eve in Korea, the best place is Jonggak or Gwanghwamun. There%26#39;s big bell in Jonggak and It rings once a year - the starts of new year. There are so many people gathered and will be held many performances on the road from Jonggak to Gwanghwamun. It%26#39;s not far from Myungdong but it%26#39;s little bit far going there by walk from Myungdong.
Have a nice holiday!
Hey Brian
Thanks for your updates :), hooray, now I know where is my hotel located and where to go on New Year%26#39;s Eve. I will definitely go Myeung Dong as what you had said and earlier Davis and Bloosom mentioned, and also to Jonggak and Gwanghwamun. It is really a rare opportunity to hear the big bell rings for only once a year
Btw, are you a Korean :) May I know.
Cheers
';Jong'; of Jonggak means bell. Yeah, you can hear the ringing of the bell, but it%26#39;ll be very crowded. You can even walk freely. Several years ago, I went to see the hitting the bell but I couldn%26#39;t because of too many people were there.
Besides hitting the bell, there will be many events and performances. Enjoy your trip!
Go to New Year%26#39;s party.
There should be happeinig at every clubs: Woobar at W, JJ at Hyatt, Lots of little clubs at Hongik University area, bars in Apkujung-Dong, etc.
Because, I don%26#39;t know if you%26#39;ve ever been to Korea, but it%26#39;s really freezing cold now and more so around New Years.
It%26#39;s impossible to get a cab that night. So you have to walk or take subway. Really bundle up.
If you don%26#39;t want to spend cold night outside, parties are big on New Year%26#39;s.
They might charge steep covers though.
Forget everything and just be at Jongno/ Jongik area near the tall Samsung building. Trust me, just do it. I was there last year and it just turned out to be one of those New years I%26#39;ll never forget.
BTW, it IS possible to get a cab that night, you just may have to shell out an outrageous amount of cash to do it. Maybe it was the freezing cold or maybe I was just plain drunk, but the words ';ILL GIVE YOU 40 DOLLARS'; just happened to fall out of my mouth and into the ears of the cabbie for a ride that was barely 10-15 minutes.
BUNDLE UP, and make sure you cover your throat.
Have fun. I%26#39;ll be nextdoor in Tokyo for NYE.
when do the shops and complexes in seoul start to have to christmas decorations on?
